Here's the honest truth about this ball: your dog probably won't destroy it. You'll lose it. In long grass, under the sofa, down a riverbank, in a hedge you'll spend twenty minutes searching before giving up and walking home.

I've been running these with my own Malinois and haven't had one broken yet — and if you know the breed, you know that isn't a small thing to say. The rubber is why: thick, natural, and it gives instead of cracking.

The hollow centre packs with kibble, treats or a smear of peanut butter, so a bored dog has to work for every piece — chewing, pawing and rolling it around the room instead of working on your skirting boards. The textured surface scrubs teeth and gums while they do it.

Straight talk: no ball is indestructible for every dog. Mine haven't broken one — yours might.
